This oak door, estimated to date to the mid 1800s, was restored as part of a larger project on a Grade II listed property in Bath. Due to being situated on the corner of a busy road it had been quite severely weathered over time, however following timber repairs and alterations to correct some issues with closing it was ready for repainting and new cast iron door furniture.
The masonry surrounds were finished in Johnstones Stormshield, while the timber was finished in Zinsser Allcoat. As a water based finish it is more environmentally friendly than traditional solvent based finishes, while also boasting a 15 year warranty.
